Welcome to Ioway Creek Farms

Our guiding verse

“Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds.” — Proverbs 27:23

Meet The Owners

Welcome to Ioway Creek Farms! We are Clayton & Morgan Ubben, two Iowa ag kids who turned a passion for sheep into a service for producers across the Midwest & an input for gardeners beyond.

Meet Clayton!

Full time sheep shearer by day, part time basketball player by night!

Shearing has always been a part of Clayton’s life. His grandpa sheared for over 50 years, and Clayton grew up helping him, learning not just the skill but the work ethic and care that comes with it.

He’s an old soul, steady, and hardworking, the kind of person who will see something through no matter what. When he decided it was time to buy an engagement ring, he decided it was time to get to work, picking up extra shearing jobs until he could make it happen.

Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, being outdoors, playing basketball, and a good meal, especially Mexican food or anything homemade and baked goods!

Meet Morgan!

As for me, I’ve always been drawn to the bigger picture of agriculture and doing things in a way that actually lasts. I really enjoy connecting with customers and helping people understand what we do and why it matters. Most of the time, I’m behind the scenes handling wool pellets, messages, orders, and all the little details that keep everything moving.

I really enjoy the simple things in life. In my free time, I love walking our dog, baking (I make a pretty mean pie and chocolate chip cookies), and spending time with family. I’ve grown to really love gardening, and I’m slowly learning how to can, which has been a fun and rewarding process. I truly love living in the Midwest and the beauty of the Iowa landscape, it’s something I don’t take for granted. I’m really looking forward to raising a family here someday and watching not only our future grow, but everything we’re building together flourish.

Our Story

We met in high school through FFA, and like a lot of small-town stories, we were just your typical high school sweethearts. But from the beginning, we knew we shared the same vision for our life. Agriculture has always been something we truly care about, and we knew early on this was the kind of life we wanted to build together.

Over the last four years, we’ve worked toward that future side by side, both earning our degrees in Agricultural Business while continuing to stay connected to the work we grew up around. Our days still start early with a hot cup of coffee before we head in different directions. Clayton is usually on the road shearing sheep across Iowa and surrounding states, and I’m balancing nursing school, working at the hospital, and running the day-to-day side of our business from home.

Everything we do is rooted in a simple belief: “Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds.” That mindset of paying attention and doing things the right way is what led us to wool pellets. We saw how much wool was going to waste and knew there had to be a better use for it. Turning it into something that helps the soil, holds moisture, and supports plant growth just made sense to us.

At the end of the day, this is more than just a business for us. It’s the life we’ve chosen, and something we’re continuing to build together every single day. We’re still growing, still learning, and still figuring things out as we go, but that’s part of what makes it so meaningful. We truly can’t wait for our customers to follow along, be a part of our journey, and grow right alongside us.
